What Your Soul Will Do Without You. . .
A Spoken Word Poem
By: Rachel Fiori
What happens when you die?
When your vessel no longer is
Your soul will mourn what was
And ache in physical remembrance
The pain of stubbing your toe
The knot that pulled your hair when brushed
The excitement of scoring that goal
That first big paycheck that brought with it security. . .
When you’re no longer here in the physical
Your soul will long and ache
For every physical sensation
That are the miracles of incarnation
When your soul no longer has a body
It can no longer jump or run or hike
It can’t sing or play piano
No more swimming, driving, riding horses, or cuddling puppies. . .
Once you leave this earth plane
Doing laundry feels like a privilege
Chopping wood, mopping, and papercuts…
Oh how the soul longs for just one more
Heartache, let down and disappointments
Your soul loves each so much
Because each is its own unique opportunity
To explore something outside of The One Source
You see, The One Source extended is your soul
Your soul extended is you
Both provide feedback to The One Of All
So that all of the things that She temporarily incarnates as . . . experiences . . . lives through. . .
- The pain
- The joy
- The hugs
- The hits in whatever forms
- The wins and the challenges
- The feel-goods and the fuck-yous
All provide feedback that She is and always will be pure, divine, loving perfection as Her original Self.
So while she incarnates as you, as them, as that. . .
You must remember. . . remember that you are Her
Remember that you are your soul, which is Her
All of which are facets of the same sparkling diamond
Remember that you are that dog, that whale, that other person, that elephant, and that herb. . .
And that each and everyone is Her.
I am you. You are me. We are Her.
So while your soul is here for awhile . . . extensions of Her as you
Remember that this lifetime is a vacation for your soul
And like every vacation it will come to an end
No matter how much fun or shitty it was,
Once you leave this place,
Your soul will miss being you.
